A Handmade House Warming Gift

My daughter and family moved into their new house a few weeks ago and she now has her own space to create a sewing area. She has been smitten with the craft bug! And she/we are having fun working together when we get a chance, so I decided I would make her a little organiser for her to hang next to her work area. I saw something similar on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to try out, so yet again I went through my materials (still in the same state as last week, now only worse) and I found an old flowery dress, some linen (of course) and a few other wee bits and bobs. I embroidered “my sewing room” across the top and added a little mannequin who is now wearing her own mini version of the dress with a lace petticoat, a little basket with tooth picks and beads for knitting needles, a couple of pin cushions and a few pockets. I hope she likes it as it took me an age to finish! Will be taking it up to her in the next few days, so will let you know the verdict. What do you think, will she?

Got 2 exciting giveaways that I am just putting together, more on them later.

Thanks Louise. Yes they have all settled in and love it and are lovely and warm with an open fire. Gone really cold here again and wooly jumpers are out.

How wonderful to have a chance to work with your daughter on craft projects. I miss my mother because we did crafts and shows together. I love what you made for your daughter. It is so cute. I would be thrilled to have as I'm sure your daughter will be too.
