Loving Amalthee Linen Creations

I dont know about you but I adore Linen and love wearing it, the only downside is the fact that it creases and within minutes of sitting down I look a crumpled mess. Still it wont stop me wearing it. I found this site a few weeks ago and picked a few of my favourites. Do you wear Linen? is there a way to stop it creasing? apart from never sitting down....

This gorgeous outfit is a layered off white flax linen gauze top and a linen sarouel skirt with a linen gauze scarf, totally love it.

Loose fitting shangtung silk tunic, mixed linen sarouel skirt, love the headband oh and the necklace, very elegant.
Delicious chocolate brown flax linen tunic with black linen sarouel skirt. Perfect

Loose fit off white flax linen veil tunic and sand beige linen sarouel skirt. Oh no sold out :(

I love all Amalthee creations and have my wishlist to hand

Button Pin Art by Ran Hwang

Ran Hwang created amazing button and pin art by sticking pins through buttons thousands of times, and then organizes them into the shape of a massive bird on a wall. Each image requires the hammering of thousands of pins with buttons into a wall. No glue is used. The buttons can move or fall at any time. However, the work is only completed after the bird is surrounded, naturally, by a cage.

“My immense wall installations are extremely time consuming and repetitive manual work,” says Hwang. “This is a form of meditative practice that helps me find my inner peace. Pins are used to hold buttons onto the surface to form a silhouetted image, or to disintegrate such image. No adhesive is used so the buttons are free to stay and move, which implies the genetic human tendency to be irresolute. I use buttons because they are common and ordinary, like the existence of human beings”.
"By hammering thousands of pins onto a wall, I discover significance of existence,” she adds”. Like the monks practicing Zen facing the wall, my work is a form of performance that leads to finding oneself.” Hwang graduated from the School of Visual Arts in NYC and has exhibited her work in New York, Paris and Seoul”.

Krishenka's Going on Vacation Sale 25% off all my little Treasures

I have had holidays before but never for as long as a month.... go retirement there are benefits :) As I have never closed my Etsy shop and am now going through a dilema as to what I should do, several friends have suggested to leave it open and some suggest close it. I have given this a lot of thought and have finally decided to close when I am away. My first reason for doing this is, that if I purchased an item and them found out I had to wait a month + delivery time I don't think I would be so happy and secondly I want to relax and enjoy my holiday and not worry about it. So here is my plan I am going to have a sale for the first time ever on my blog, if it works great but if not.. nothing ventured nothing gained etc etc...

Now how do I do this? I really dont know and am making this up as I go along. Rather than flood the page with items to show you (might add a just a couple). I was thinking that if I offered a 25% discount on any items from my shop and leave you to go and have a wee browse for yourself. You can use the code "VacationSale2013" to recieve the automatic discount.

Uncle Ted's doing another Giveaway for me

This was my very first giveaway back in 2010 and because Uncle Ted  wants to do it again as he enjoyed it so much the last time I have decided to repeat it. The winner will receive something very close to this sachet and can choose any initial and colour.

Decided to do my very  first give away to celebrate the fact that I finally got my 200th sale today on Etsy and would like someone to win a hand monogrammed vintage linen sachet filled with french lavender grown in my own garden here in the South West of France (initial of your choice) this can be for you or for a friend. Just leave me a comment along with your choice for the colour and initail and your name will be entered into the draw.  After many hours of searching for someone to make the draw I decided to let Uncle Ted do it and does he look happy or what? This is open to anyone, anywhere! Postage on me.

Ps Uncle Ted just reminded me if there is a start there must be a finish silly me, um lets see how about  a couple of weeks.  So 21st Sep it is then. Good luck
