Sheer fluke Mary :) I have about four of these and they really are handy, never thought of putting makeup brushes in them, probably as I dont really use much in the way of makeup.

I think I would use it for my crochet hooks.
Another good idea Mary but would have to have narrower pockets I would imagine.
