I am always in awe of artists and finding Tatania's shop AquaticPlants on Etsy with her beautiful water colours was indeed a treat, so I decided that I should share a few of her original nature inspired works with you from abstract, flowers ,landscape and vintage.  I would like to introduce Catriona Davies or Cat as she prefers to be called, the owner and creator of Black Sheep Designs UK. Cat whilst  in  the midst of studying and living on a tight student budget found herself more and more in charity shops which sparked of an interest in vintage fashion. Occasionally she would replicate skirts from the 50’s, jumpsuits from the 70’s and even cocktail dresses from the 80’s.

After graduating with a BA (Hons) in Fashion, working along with other designers, she eventually decided to combine the skills she had developed over the years with her interest in vintage fashion to create an eclectic women’s wear label specialising in unique, handmade and affordable wear. Fusing retro, vintage and modern styles and shapes, and taking inspiration from previous decades and pop culture, past and present, including versatile and intermixable items, as well as bold statement pieces.

All items are made from scratch by herself in small quantities (or can be made to order), from carefully sourced fabrics and in realistic sizes that reflect modern women’s' shapes and sizes. Black Sheep is based in the UK  and also ships internationally, using a fast and affordable shipping provider. All the items shown here are available in her shop

Tattered Delicates on Etsy

This white crochet poncho is a vintage cotton crocheted piece. It has been upcycled from a vintage table doily. Poncho has a simple romantic design. This has a soft delicate feel and will drape gently off your shoulders. The thread used for this vintage crocheted piece is the thinner more delicate kind.

Altered couture blouse romantically embellished in a victorian style with lots of fluffy white laces. 

Cute shabby handbag in a romantic Victorian style with lace and doily embellishments. This bag has a puffy like body. This creme colored fabric has soft round popcorn-like bumps filled with poly fibers. They're like little pillows. Embellishment with a vintage crocheted doily, buttons, couple pieces of fringe, cotton lace and ruffled lace.

Handmade with vintage cotton crocheted doilies, lace trims, vintage lace remnant scraps, buttons, beads, satin ribbon roses, my handmade fabric rose, old used fringe (has stains), tiny metal dragonfly and butterfly, and a brooch with vintage faux pearls and gypsy coins. The body of this shabby purse is a white damask fabric.
