Finally decided enough is enough and today is day one of no smoking with the help of patches. So far so good, and I am going to post here once a week and let you know how it's going, helps big time that my hubby and our daughter have taken the same decision.
Wish me/us luck
Found the above picture through google and if I feel weak will look at it and hopefully become instantly strong again.
Any words of encouragement you might have will be gratefully
received.

It is hard. I did it cold turkey. But it is the best thing I ever did.
Change your habits ,like where you eat ,watch tv, everything and it will be easyer but it takes time. Laura
Thanks Laura, well day 4 and feel fine but I think if I did not have the patches I would struggle. Shaking of the last of the flu and I think then I will start to feel the benefits.
Good for you Chrissie, as you know my Mother has given up smoking, for good reason too. My stepfather has also given up smoking. You can do it Chrissie :) The prize is better health, not to mention a penny or 2 more in your pocket :)
Thanks so much for your support Marcel really apreciate it and of course you are right. Day 8 already and we are all hanging in there. It's not as bad as I thought it would be either. Your right about the extra pennies I need to go and treat myself soon :)
Perhaps you could have a "piggy bank" for all of you who are quitting. Put in the money you're saving and plan a trip with it. Whoever starts smoking again can't join on the trip. So select a destination and put up pictures of where you're going to go.
Either way, I wish you all the best. It's one of the best decisions of your life. Stick with it!
Simona I never ever thought that I would one day say "This is the best decision I have ever made in my life" but now I have and each day is better. I am beginning to feel great and I will NEVER smoke again. Thanks for your support.
