Yip Another Carnival Whoo Hoo

What a fabulous weekend with the grandkids and another carnival to take them to this time in Albi. They wanted to go on the ghost train and I really wish I had snapped a picture of them when they came out, not quite in tears but  bottom lips that you could sit on and what a rotten nana as it made me laugh all the more. They were not happy with me and said I shouldn't have taken them on such a scary ride!!! Naughty Nana.  No point in mentioning that they were the ones who insisted  :)

I was quickly forgiven by buying them a barbe a papa!  and the smiles were back. Kids never hold grudges for long thankfully.

Even more smiles when they went on the cars, especially when Stevie discovered that he could make it go up in the air by pulling the lever back. Huge squeals of pure delight  and smiles that would melt an iceberg  when they went on the bungie bouncy thing.

Over 100 floats and totally amazing themes, plus the sun was playing nicely and gave us a beautiful sunny day.

No smiles when they could not go into the water bubbles though but they got over it.

6 hours later we took home two very tired but happy little people who went to bed and were asleep within minutes,  the big ones I might add were not that far behind them!! zzzzzzzzzzzz

The kids did this painting today and have talked none stop about the carnival, all the colours must have left an impression on them to do this. Love it

Christmas Market Caussade France

Fun day at the Marche Noel with Santa and his wife arriving in style and lots to keep  folks amused despite the cold. Hot chocolate, sweets, clementines and cake were being handed out to all.
Stevie and Poppy after all their excitement waiting to see Santa would have nothing to do him or his good lady, Poppy ran off and Stevie wouldn't even take a sweet that was being waved in his face (following the, don't take anything from a stranger rule with no exceptions.)!!!

Poppy though had no problem getting her face painted especially when she saw  pink paint, and was happy for the rest of the day, well almost.

They were fascinated by how these three guys could be so tall, try explaining stilts to a 4 and 3 year old.

Messages were attached to balloons which were to be sent off to who knows where but if you do come across one you have to send a card to the address, might be mine!

Can't wait for tomorrow as my son and family will arrive, can you imagine the noise levels for the next few days with a 5,4 and two 3 year olds!!! Merry Christmas to you all xx

Still Recovering

Well Stevie and Poppy arrived for the weekend, and were more than ready to release their energy on anything and everyone who was within a three mile radius of them. I was going to take them to a grotto near here until I discovered that it was closed for the season :( (this seems to be happening a lot to me  lately)! Still the arrival of 4.9 tonnes of wood made an impact and they were very happy to help with the the stacking of it.

Following day we did face  painting always a winner. Stevie wanted to be a chocolate dog and Poppy wanted to be a black and yellow Zebra but with pink spots! who am I to argue and I am no artist but tried my best and Stevie 4, looked about 12 with his face painted and Poppy  2 looked about 8 I was more facinated by that than the finished result.
With several more hours left to entertain a trip to the park was needed and they did the usual stuff kids do at a park, at least I got a chance to sit down for a few minutes.

I decided not to take any pictures off them whilst they were eating their dinner
for more reaons than I could possibly  list!

The following day we went off to a car boot sale and they managed to find a few goodies to take home with them, fishing nets, ( the fishing nets will be used for them to catch grasshoppers to feed their abandoned owl at home) a huge bag of mini men (mum will be so pleased ) a talking computer  and a doll.
Poppy about to go into a sulk as her brother Stevie was amusing himself and refused to let her near  his newfound pinball game, she very quickly recovered and very soon found a little talking computer and was happy again.

I am not a lover of MacDonalds but have to hand it to them when it comes to entertaining  kids they win hands down, we passed a good 1.5 hours there and apart from Poppy getting stuck on the stairs and me having to crawl throught the tunnels to bring her out which was not easy and  amused several people around us, always pleased to help!

So finally it was time to take them home but have to say they were great fun to have around, it's hard work and I had almost forgotton what it was like to have little ones around 24/24 but I tell you what I won't ever forget again.

Till the next time

Happy Sad Week

Well it's hard to believe that the kids have been here a week already, how time flies and all that. As you can see their car was full to the brim including their two cats, who have settled really well.
We have had a week of highs and lows the high, their arrival, my husbands birthday and then we received the sad news that we had lost Stew who was only 32 years old and had been fighting cancer for 6 years. So bizare to have all these emotions swimming around at the same time.

The kids made papi and me a beautiful card for our birthday's and we have hung it on the door till it's my turn next week.

Poppy & Stevie mixing up a dough  and Stevie made a monster face and a house, and Poppy made a catpig as she called it, mmh and yes I had a go too, mine is the snake and the basket, popped them in the oven to dry and then they painted them which kept them entertained for a good 30 minutes.

I bought two bubbles wands,  but unbeknown to me it  was going to create a mini war between them, I got two different coloured ones (I thought that made sense)!!  Wrong!!!!  meanwhile the Zebra's escaped to have a well deserved snooze after  being dragged into the bubble war and used as lethal weapons, I think Poppy won.
Finally time for  little angels  bedtime, now the big ones can relax till morning, this is when we can finally go ahhh  who's getting the drinks in!!!
